OpenAI's highly anticipated text-to-video generator, Sora, is set to become publicly available later this year, according to the company's chief technology officer, Mira Murati.
Sora is currently being tested by a limited number of visual artists, designers, and filmmakers, but some Sora-generated videos have already gone viral.
Murati did not provide specific details about the data used to train Sora.
Sora is more expensive to power compared to other AI tools, but OpenAI is working to make it available at costs similar to DALL-E, their text-to-image model.
