🧠 Meta unveils DALL-E 3 and Midjourney competitor

Meta has just introduced Imagine with Meta, a new web tool that lets users create images by simply describing them in words. This tool is quite similar to OpenAI's DALL-E, Midjourney and Stable Diffusion, offering the ability to transform text prompts into high-resolution images. For the time being, it's freely available to users in the U.S., and it generates four images per prompt.

Meta has implemented invisible watermarks on the images generated by this tool. These watermarks can be detected by a special tool, aiming to ensure transparency and traceability of AI-generated content. Meta also plans to extend this watermarking feature to other AI-generated image products in the future.

🚀 Musk says X’s AI chatbot Grok is rolling out to Premium+ users

Earlier today, Elon Musk tweeted that Grok, X Twitter’s AI tool poised to rival ChatGPT, is rolling out for all Twitter’s Premium+ users.

Grok’s launch is a key part of Musk's plan to make Twitter more than just a social media platform. As ad revenues dip, he's turning to subscriptions to keep things afloat. But it's not just about Grok. Musk is also working to turn Twitter into a "super app", where users can do everything from chatting to making payments.

Starting xAI (the AI company behind Grok) back in July, Musk aimed to bring a fresh perspective to AI, challenging the status quo of Big Tech with concerns over censorship and safety. Grok's rollout to a wider audience is another step in Musk's ongoing tech revolution.

There's quite a buzz about the official launch of Grok. From the various sneak peeks by users who've had early access, it seems to be a breath of fresh air in the chatbot scene, which often suffers from overly restricted outputs to prevent misuse. One thing is for sure: following OpenAI's announcements, the launch of Gemini, and now the official arrival of Grok, 2024 is shaping up to be a pivotal year in the development of generative AI.
