Anthropic announced Claude Duet on October 21: a personal agent that can continue working on its own cloud computer while your devices are off. Access is a research preview with a waitlist for Pro and Max subscribers in the US.

  • A recurring check-in: Duet can prepare a morning brief and check connected apps every few hours. That isn’t continuous monitoring.

  • You approve consequential steps: it asks before sending messages, paying, signing documents, or deleting things.

  • The meter keeps running: background activity counts toward your existing plan’s usage limits.

Anthropic says the preview can misjudge urgency and doesn’t yet let you watch its browser. Start with a task whose result you can inspect, such as preparing a meeting brief from selected documents.

Why it matters: the useful shift is work continuing between conversations. Whether it saves attention depends on the quality of its checks and the decisions it leaves to you.

TOGETHER WITH ALIGNED

Stop losing deals in between meetings.

Aligned is changing how B2B teams run their most important deals.

Most reps guess where a deal really stands. They forecast on a gut feeling and the buyer’s word vs what's actually happening. Then they realize the deal slipped through only after it's too late. Aligned surfaces what buyers are actually doing inside every deal: the risks, the openings, and the exact next step to keep things moving.

Start increasing your close rates and stand up your first deal room in minutes.

AI TOOL OF THE DAY
A gallery of Canva Craft’s official generated image examples

Canva Craft, introduced October 22, plans a composition before rendering it. It is available globally to all Canva users in Dream Lab, with outputs up to 2K and more than 30 aspect ratios.

Try this original poster exercise:

  1. Open Dream Lab and check your account’s generation allowance. Choose a portrait format.

  2. Use the brief below, then inspect the first result before asking for changes.

  3. Check the wording, reading order, and empty space. Revise one element at a time; verify the export before printing.

Original prompt: Create a portrait poster for a fictional community repair café. Cream background, dark teal lettering, one orange accent. Place “FIX IT TOGETHER” at the top, a simple illustration of a repaired desk lamp in the middle, and “Bring one small item” beneath it. Leave the bottom quarter blank for event details. Use no logos or extra text.

If you need editable elements, explore the separate Magic Layers tool. Craft’s MCP connection is still marked coming soon.

4 TRENDING AI TOOLS

Useful discoveries; not all launched this week.

📊 DeepCell: keep tables, documents, and slides connected in one workspace so changes can flow through the same project. Try it with a small report and check that every linked figure updates as expected.

📡 Radaric: build a reading feed from sources such as RSS, Telegram, and YouTube. Feedback helps tune relevance, while grouped stories reduce repetition. Follow the original links before relying on a summary.

✂️ UseIt Studio: turn a brief into designs for physical objects, from stickers to packaging, with editable layers and production files. Print a small test to check dimensions and fold lines before ordering a batch.

🔀 Notion Auto: the October 19 update chooses a model for each task, balancing capability and cost. Leave Auto selected for a small summarizing task, then check the result. The new Business and Enterprise credit system reaches existing workspaces on November 2.

Google’s illustration of brand styles, connected apps and content templates

Image: Google

Google’s October 20 small-business update brings a dedicated starting page, reusable brand styles, and connections to everyday business tools. The company says the features are rolling out globally to all Gemini app users over the coming days.

  • Set the visual direction once: upload a website or brand kit so Gemini can retain details such as fonts and colors for images made with Nano Banana 2.1.

  • Bring relevant tools together: the announced connections include Canva, Shopify, Xero, and Google Workspace.

  • Make records easier to read: Gemini can turn business information such as receipts or spreadsheets into visual summaries.

Why it matters: recurring content should need less repeated explanation. When the features reach your account, try one small promotion using your own brand material. Compare the result with your real style guide and check any numbers against the original records before sharing.

QUICK AND FRESH

🔑 1Password introduces agent logins. The new platform lets you approve logins without exposing passwords to the model. It supports Individual and Family accounts on 1Password.com, not .eu or .ca. Muse and Grok Bot integrations are rolling out over the coming days; Claude Duet and ChatGPT Work support come later.

⚙️ OpenAI’s Decisions API is generally available. Developers can define bounded questions and receive a probability, choice, or score from text, images, or JSON. Useful for routing requests or classifying documents; this is an API feature, not a new ChatGPT button.

🐟 Sakana introduces Aquarium for businesses. Announced October 23, the managed agent platform organizes company knowledge and operating rules, with approval steps and execution records. Access starts through deployment discussions; don’t expect a self-service consumer app.

🛠️ AI-assisted research helped uncover critical PHP flaws. PHP released security fixes on October 21. If you run a website, ask your host whether its PHP installation is patched—even if your site software is current. The official release notices list the corrected versions.
