Stable Diffusion may soon face new competition in the open-source image generation arena with the introduction of PixArt Delta. Developed by researchers from Huawei Noah’s Ark Lab, Dalian University of Technology, Tsinghua University, and Hugging Face, this advanced text-to-image synthesis framework is designed to surpass the capabilities of the Stable Diffusion family in both speed and accuracy while maintaining high resolution.

The PixArt Delta model represents a significant enhancement over its predecessor, PixArt Alpha, by integrating the Latent Consistency Model (LCM) and ControlNet. This combination not only accelerates the image generation process but also improves the quality of the output, enabling the creation of high-resolution images (1,024 x 1,024 pixels) in as little as 0.5 seconds, a substantial improvement over previous models.
