🎙️ ChatGPT Voice can now work with your apps

OpenAI’s September 23 update brings plugins to ChatGPT Voice on the web, iOS, and Android. In Live voice, you can ask ChatGPT to use available connected apps while you keep talking, with written results appearing in the chat.

• In Chat: Voice supports plugins across plans, including Free and Go, subject to the apps your account can access.

• In Work: Voice can help create documents, slides, and spreadsheets, use connected apps, and browse. You need access to both Voice and Work; their usage limits still apply.

• When you hang up: An unfinished Work task can continue in the text conversation.

Why it matters: You can explain a task out loud, clarify it in conversation, then inspect the resulting work. Try turning your own meeting notes into an action list.

One useful detail: approvals on web and mobile still use on-screen controls. Saying “yes” aloud doesn’t replace them. Check your Voice settings and access before trying it.

📄 Ask Claude to review your PDF, right on the page

Adobe’s September 24 update adds interactive Acrobat tools to its Claude plugin. You can edit PDFs and use a Document Review skill to analyze a document and add comments or highlights. It’s rolling out across Claude on desktop, web, and mobile.

Try it on an event flyer you’ve drafted:

1. On Claude web or desktop, follow Adobe’s setup guide: install the Adobe plugin, connect Adobe, and attach your PDF.

2. Ask for a review with the original prompt below. Focus on what a reader needs to act.

3. Inspect each annotation in the interactive editor. Resolve real issues, dismiss incorrect suggestions, and check the finished PDF before sharing.

Review this event flyer as a first-time attendee. Add comments wherever the date, venue, start time, or RSVP instructions are missing or conflict. Quote the relevant text in each comment. Don’t invent missing details or rewrite the flyer.

• 💬 ToneBird: Draft replies inside your existing apps on Mac or Windows, with tone adapted to the conversation. Review the wording before inserting it.

• 🎤 Monologue: Dictate, capture voice notes, and transcribe meetings across Apple devices. Its new mono-1 model is designed to handle corrections and formatting more naturally.

• 🌐 Kimi Browser Extension: Read pages and carry out browser tasks in Chrome or Edge. Setup requires the extension, a local service, and a Kimi account.

• 👥 Nautilo: Share documents and AI conversations in a team room. Join a server by invitation or host one yourself; its managed cloud service is still coming.

👓 Meta wants Muse to see what you see

Meta used Connect on September 23 to outline the next step for Muse: bringing the assistant to its AI glasses. The idea is to act on things you’re looking at, from a product on a shelf to a school supply list, while you talk.

• Glasses: Muse is due on Meta’s AI glasses in the coming months. Treat the demonstrations as a preview, not a feature you can assume is on your pair today.

• Charm: Meta also introduced a pocket-sized device built around real-time voice conversations. It says more details are coming later this year; its announcement doesn’t establish a price or shipping date.

Why it matters: A wearable assistant could reduce the gap between noticing something and organizing the next step. For now, keep the hardware promises separate from what Muse already does on a screen.

A few more things worth your attention

• 🧬 Claude helped identify an unusual enzyme system. Anthropic reports that a large agent search surfaced previously unrecognized features of a phage system, followed by human lab validation. Its natural function remains uncertain; this isn’t a ready-made gene-editing treatment.

• 🎬 Google tackles longer, more consistent AI video. New research explores keeping characters, settings, and storylines coherent across shots. The frameworks and demonstrations are research results, rather than a new consumer video editor you can download.

• 🔌 Gemini adds more connected apps. Google’s September 23 rollout includes services such as Airtable, Linear, Webflow, and Peloton. Check Connected Apps in settings to see what your account can link.

• 🗣️ Gemini 3.8 gets new text-to-speech models. Flash and Flash-Lite TTS bring more control over a generated voice’s pacing and expression, with rollout through AI Studio and the API. This is separate from the earlier Gemini Live update.
